Anti Smoking Campaign

Smoking is an addictive habit that is gradually affecting the health of active and passive smokers. The SIES Graduate School of Technology decided to partake a campaign to spread the awareness of the risks and ill effects of smoking.

Students encourage smokers to live healthier

From the point of view of the younger generation, the most common factor of addiction to smoking is peer pressure and influence from the media. Added to this, is also stress relief for everyday fast and pressured life. Since it is human nature to pay attention to what catches the eye, SIES GST decided to plan a campaign involving display of various posters which spread the awareness. The campaign was head by Dekshitha Sridhar, a T.E student in SIES and her capable and adept team in the second week of September.

Stop Smoking, Start Bubbling

Apart from the posters, as a symbolic representation to supporting the cause, students blew soap bubbles and the moment was called : Stop Smoking, Start Bubbling. The posters showed contrast between smokers and non-smokers, physically what affects the body, with the hope that the gore and harsh truth will bring to light what is happening to their body when they start smoking. SIES GST and their representative students condemn smoking and ran the Anti Smoking Campaign to voice this opinion successfully.
