Fiction, the theme for this year's Tatva MokshLakshya '14, came to life with exactitude at SIESGST over a span of three days from February 13th to 15th. The GST campus was embellished like any fantasyland straight out of fiction with characters from adventure movies like The Harry Potter Series and other superheroes taking part in the festivities!

The inauguration of TML' 14 was held in the GST auditorium on February 13th. The ceremony opened at 10.15 am as students and staff welcomed the Guests of honour onto the dais, followed by the dignitaries lighting the lamp with a hymn being sung in the background. The dignitaries on the dais included Mr Rajendra Khedekar-General manager for consumer sales with Indian oil, Mr R Jayaraman Iyer-CEO of South Indian Education Society, Mr S V Vishwanathan-member of managing council of SIES. Also our very own principal Dr Alka Mahajan, Student Council Incharge Mrs Sumitra Padmanabhan and Student Council President Mr Abhishek Labhe were present on the dais.

Dr Alka Mahajan presented the annual report for the current academic year reflecting immense pride in the achievements of students and student chapters of GST and congratulating each one for their contribution in goals that GST had succeeded in accomplishing this year. Following this were few encouraging words from Mr Khedekar as to what students today are capable of achieving in the industry and how they should utilise the resources available to achieve growth in career. The inaugural function proceeded further with a quick list of student activities this year read out by Abhishek Labhe who highlighted all big and small events that had fructified in the college. Then, Mr Jayaraman came forward to present his interpretation of the terms Tatva, Moksh and Lakshya and opined on how each GSTian should inculcate these qualities to become great engineers and even greater human beings. Endowment awards were then bestowed on all those who had stood first in academics in their respective branches and year of study. Next, Mr Vishwanathan spoke few words of advice for students and another few words of appreciation for GST's accomplishments.
Prize distribution ceremony then followed with prizes being awarded to meritorious students and winners of Lakshya '14. The last category of awards was GST's coveted set of awards for creative excellence, excellence in sports, technical excellence, academic excellence and most enterprising student.

End of this ceremony marked the beginning of three days of recreation and rapture with an unsaid promise that this year's TML would live up to each one's expectations and outdo all of GST's past feats.
