Navi Mumbai: On the 9th of February which falls on a Sunday, SIES Graduate School of Technology had organised a marathon which was a charity run for the NGO forum for autism
which takes care of autistic kids. It was a run for their benefit as the amount
for the registration was going to be donated to the charity of autistic kids.
Early morning at 7.30 all the runners gathered up, regardless of the
fact that it was a Sunday morning, and started to warm up for the run with new
found zeal and pump. The run consisted of banners held up to raise awareness
about autism, the marathon also included a few autistic kids joining in for the
run which made this a more eventful and endearing marathon.
The principal of SIES GST, Dr. Alka Mahajan inaugurated the run, and the
runners geared up and started the run, the number of participants around 200, which also included some adults along with the college students.
The marathon winner was Akshay Kamath from SIES GST,
who were awarded trophies by the principal. The marathon was completed by all
the autistic kids successfully, which in turn made the entire marathon
successful as its cause was fulfilled.
