Navi Mumbai: It was a lightly
rainy, gray morning. Everyone gathered in the campus to celebrate the 68th Independence
Day. The posters made by the NSS volunteers were evocative and rich, portraying
sacrifice, integrity and thereby invoking a sense of nationalism. The tricolor
was hoisted which was closely followed by the national anthem. The Principal of
the college, Dr. Alka Mahajan addressed the gathering by enlightening the
students with technological advancements in modern India. Her clear and
relevant ideas rejuvenated the young aspiring engineers of the country.
This marvelous
gathering was hosted by Vinay Hegde and Dekshitha Sridhar who were vibrant and
full of energy. Further, the Music Club of our college came up with a mind
blowing performance on ‘Vande Mataram’. The NSS volunteers presented a
thrilling skit on ‘Corruption in India’, written by Tejas Rane and Gautami
Pinkyar. The skit illustrated the erroneous acts which take place in the
society and focused on the need of dynamism for a peaceful change. Dance is an
act which willingly connects all of us. Hence, the NSS volunteers chose dance
as a medium to portray ‘Youth Empowerment’ which was choreographed by Nishmita
Shetty. Also, tremendous speeches were delivered by Pramit Kumar and Rajat
Sabulal which highlighted the role of youth in molding the country and
achievements of the country in an international platform.
This amazing day
keenly imparted a patriotic fervor and enthusiasm amongst all GSTians.
