Navi Mumbai: Everyone’s curiosity piqued when they saw
what looked like Wall-E, our favourite robot that never existed out of the
movie universe, until that day. Turns out that Exsequor, SIES GST’s newly
christened robotics club was gearing itself for a workshop on microcontrollers
and embedded systems. What better way to draw the crowd than just build a
robot? Evidently it worked because the 30th day of September saw the
auditorium packed with eager faces.
The workshop was conducted by Aakash Khochare
(TE CE) and Sujesh Menon (TE EXTC). Though the audience were initially
perplexed or rather skeptical at the sight of their unassuming speakers, all
doubts were quashed the moment they launched into a technically rich yet
effervescent session that managed to keep the 150 strong crowd engaged.
The workshop covered microprocessors,
microcontrollers and their implementations. Later, everyone was shown the
FireBird V robot and its basic capabilities and applications. This was followed
by a test, clearing which would have entitled the participants a spot in the
robotics competition.
