Navi Mumbai: On September 11, 2013, the Entrepreneurship Development Cell of
SIES GST organized an orientation programme for the new members. The GST
auditorium was packed with entrepreneurship enthusiasts hungry for all the
guidance they could get.
The program started by formal introductions of the student
coordinators of EDC. The encouraging and positive outlook of the student
coordinators and the other core members made everyone look forward to a
productive and highly informative interaction with real time entrepreneurs, and
the other events planned for the future.
Prof. Shailesh of the PPT department being an entrepreneur himself
gave the audience a firsthand idea of what being an entrepreneur actually
means. He explained how innovation and all the procedures following it
should be carried out to make it work.
A complete introduction to the steps and opportunities provided by
the NEC was given to all the members. The association of the EDC of SIES
GST with the E-CELL of IIT Bombay and the concept of SIN INCUBATOR
programme of IIT Bombay was explained.
Finally Prof. Sumitra shared her experience of the formation of
EDC in SIES GST, all the dreams and goals set by the alumni and how the
new members should contribute their best towards it and keep on innovating.
Summing it up, the orientation sure got a lot of minds thinking,
the methodical and planned approach projected by the speakers struck all
the right chords.
